Getting your Yeti ready

Yeti Cycles Switch Infinity Link

Since Yeti Cycles launched their Switch Infinity Link (SI Link) in 2014, we often hear the question “What is that extra shock thing-a-ma-jig?”

Danny Santora, our lead mechanic servicing a Yeti SB130 and a switch Infinity Link.

It is not a shock, but rather the key to their suspension platform. This innovative suspension system debuted with the release of the Yeti SB5c and SB6c models and was developed in collaboration with Fox Racing Shox and replaced Yeti's previous "Switch Link" design. The SI Link offers improved pedaling efficiency and smoother transitions through the suspension travel. Yeti’s ride quality is unique and despite the perceived complexity of its appearance is quite simple and extremely easy to maintain. If you haven’t ridden a Yeti, they are some of the most fun bikes to ride mostly due to the SI Link and their suspension kinematics.

Maintaining your SI Link is very simple. Every 40 hours, give it a good purge with Yeti’s grease and grease gun. We recommend that every year we do a full service if you are purging it with grease at regular intervals. If you are riding a lot in very dry and dusty conditions, this may be something we do multiple times a year. This is an easy task for our mechanics at the WORKSHOP. As Danny says, make sure to service your link yearly to keep your Yeti rolling smoothly.
